Problem: Music videos are becoming a boring way to consume new media and songs. (One small innovation on this is Visual Albums, such as Kanye West’s w/ 25M views, Lana Del Rey’s w/ 8M, Beyonce’s album Lemonade, and more).
Solution: Beyond a music video or visual album: a whole music website, a true music experience. This website would feature community-created content (i.e. TikTok videos, ); could sell merchandise (similar to Octobers Very Own by Drake or Mosaert by Stromae); and would better-tie watching a music-video to some sort of end-user-engagement such as buying a product or attending a concert (where artists make most of their money anyway). The company would be a media company that creates this new genre of entertainment. Ideally these websites would do to music videos what Snow Fall ( 2013 Pulitzer Prize in Feature Writing and a Peabody Award winner) did to print media.
