WE POST ONE NEW BILLION-DOLLAR STARTUP IDEA every day.

Problem: A large part of a Zoo’s responsibilities is to track animals and care for their well-being while also providing a service to the public. Unfortunately, zoo-care is low-tech and you can only see animals in person.

Solution: Given the popularity of Tiger King, I’ve been thinking quite a bit about how to make zoo care and animal care smarter. It also took me back to my high school days when I worked for the Woodland park zoo. Two areas for potential improvement in the animal-zoo space is animal biometrics and remote zoo viewing. Animal biometrics could take the form of RFID trackers on animals or motion-detectors and cameras. The latter of these two could also become a double-sided business where the general public is providing a service to Zoos by live-streaming the animals (this is what the San Diego zoo does).

Monetization: (1) Selling aggregate data on Zoos, (2) Selling the data-analysis service to Zoos, or (3) charging a subscription / fee a digital zoo pass.
